Káli Kövek Rizling 2023/2024

A wine that’s easygoing and fruity, yet rich and  layered. A blend of 50% Olaszrizling and 50% Riesling and aged in stainless steel tanks, it combines a fresh and fruity style with the minerality of the North Balaton soils. For us, this is an everyday classic, easy-drinking and fruity, with a hint of herbs and volcanic minerality.

About the Káli Kövek winery

Gyula Szabó, the winemaker at Káli Kövek, took over his grandfather’s small vineyard a couple of years ago to focus on small-scale quality wine production. Paying close attention to the land and the grapes, he produces wines that reflect his passion for honest, artesanal winemaking and purity of style. The Káli Basin, where the winery is located, is a favorite vacation spot of many artists in Hungary. The winery and its garden play an active part in the local culture scene, organizing concerts and events throughout the year.

Most of Gyula’s wines are crisp, balanced white wines made from local grape varieties, with a minerality and liveliness that reflect the rich and diverse volcanic soils of the area.
