Frigyes Bott makes wine on roughly 10 hectares in the Muzsla (Mužla) district of Slovakia. Just across the Danube river from Hungary, the region has a large Hungarian ethnic population and was formerly the vineyard of the Archbishop of Esztergom. Frigyes does all winemaking without the use of chemicals or pesticides, using natural and organic processes. All wines are made using natural yeast and are aged in oak barrels before bottling. Both his whites and reds are soft, well-balanced and humble wines that aim to show as much of the region’s character as possible.
