The Szekszárd wine region is located in the south of Hungary, close to the Danube. With a warm, sunny climate, it produces full-bodied wines full of flavor and spice. Similarly to the Eger wine region, Szekszárd also produces Bull’s Blood (Bikavér), a blend of several grape varieties usually based on kékfrankos, but the Szekszárd version is generally more robust and full-bodied in style. The soil of Szekszárd is mainly loess, which gives a lively and fruity character to the wines.
