Located in the popular Balatonfüred area on the northern shores of Lake Balaton, Zelna winery is a relatively new but rapidly growing estate established in 2014. The winery grows grapes on 15 hectares and has a strong focus on the local Olaszrizling (Welshriesling) grape variety. Dedicated to organic viticulture and producing high-quality wines that reflect the unique terroir of the Balaton area, their offerings are fresh, elegant, and expressive of their origins.
Key vineyards include Farkó-kő, Penke, and Berekszél, each contributing distinct characteristics to the wines. The Farkó-kő vineyard, with its limestone-rich soils and historical significance, is particularly noteworthy for producing wines with a strong sense of place and minerality.
Zelna emphasizes minimal intervention and the use of organic wild yeasts, allowing the true character of the grape varieties and their unique parcels to shine through. From the lively minerality of the Sós-kút Olaszrizling to the rich, substantial Tihany Rosé, each wine is crafted to offer a genuine taste of the Balaton region.
The winery’s commitment to sustainability, quality, and regional expression has earned it a growing reputation. From the expressive Olaszrizling wines to the deep and layered Tihany rosé, we’re thrilled to add Zelna’s fascinating wines to our selection.
