Kreinbacher Brut Nature

We’re excited to have secured some of Kreinbacher’s limited stock of sparkling wine! The winery is focusing intensely on putting sparkling wines from Somló on the map, and they are already some of the best we have tasted from Hungary. Brut Nature is a sparkling wine made from furmint and chardonnay grapes and bottle-aged for at least 22 months before release, with no added dosage, resulting in a bone-dry, crisp wine. Apples, pear and toast flavors paired with an elegant and fine texture. A sparkling wine that’s astoundingly modern yet undeniably from Somló.

About the Kreinbacher winery

The Kreinbacher winery is one of the newest, and definitely the most state-of-the-art winery in Somló. The tiny wine region lies on the site of an extinct volcano, and produces some of Hungary’s most interesting white wines. Kreinacher’s modern winery building blends in organically with the slope of the hill, imitating the lava that once flowed down the side of the former volcano.

Instead of one large vineyard, Kreinbacher grows grapes on 198 different, sometimes tiny plots of land. All grapes are grown organically, and maximum care is taken towards the wine with every step of the winemaking process. The winery is also quickly becoming a pioneer in producing sparkling wine using the traditional method in Hungary.
