Gere ATTILA Cuvée 2021

Attila is the flagship wine of the Gere family winery and the most refined expression of what Villány can offer. Named after Attila Gere himself, this cuvée can be seen as the more precise, more layered counterpart to the iconic Kopar.

The wine shows a deep, dark purple colour and an expressive yet controlled nose. Aromas of black coffee, rosehip and ripe red fruit are joined by mineral notes, finely cut spices and subtle herbal tones. On the palate it is lively and focused, with fresh fruit at the core, supported by finely woven tannins and well-integrated acidity. The texture is dense but polished, giving the wine both structure and elegance rather than sheer power.

The blend is based on 50% Cabernet Franc, complemented by Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, sourced from top Villány vineyards including Konkoly, Kopár and Ördögárok. Ageing for 16 months in small 300-litre barrels adds depth and precision without dominating the fruit. Attila is a wine built for ageing, but already shows balance and clarity at a young stage. It reflects the evolution of Villány and the Gere estate, combining concentration, elegance and a clear sense of place.
