Kreinbacher Prestige Brut

The Kreinbacher winery is focusing intensely on putting sparkling wines from Somló on the map, and they are already some of the best we have tasted from Hungary. The Prestige Brut is Kreinbacher’s premium sparkling wine selection, selected from their best vineyards across Somló, bottle-fermented and bottle-aged for at least 24-30 months before release. Rich and intense, with flavors of apple and lime combined with Somló minerality. Its elegant, finely-balanced structure and delicate flavors are an experience that put this sparkling wine among some of the best out there.

About the Kreinbacher winery

The Kreinbacher winery is one of the newest, and definitely the most state-of-the-art winery in Somló. The tiny wine region lies on the site of an extinct volcano, and produces some of Hungary’s most interesting white wines. Kreinacher’s modern winery building blends in organically with the slope of the hill, imitating the lava that once flowed down the side of the former volcano.

Instead of one large vineyard, Kreinbacher grows grapes on 198 different, sometimes tiny plots of land. All grapes are grown organically, and maximum care is taken towards the wine with every step of the winemaking process. The winery is also quickly becoming a pioneer in producing sparkling wine using the traditional method in Hungary.
