Bott Frigyes Black T 2024 (Bio)

Black T. is Bott Frigyes’s unique wine that beats all expectations. Made from Leányka, a variety long treated as secondary and rarely taken seriously on its own, this wine shows just how far site and intent can push a grape beyond its reputation.

The wine spent a few days on skins, giving it an orange hue and tight, juicy stucture. Aromatically it leans toward black tea, dried apricot and honey blossom, with subtle herbal notes underneath. The structure is precise, the balance calm and confident, and the finish gently persistent. This is an elegant orange wine that reshapes how Leányka can taste when grown, harvested and handled with knowledge and care. Bottled in ceramic bottles, available while stocks last.

About the Bott Frigyes winery

Frigyes Bott makes wine on roughly 10 hectares in the Muzsla (Mužla) district of Slovakia. Just across the Danube river from Hungary, the region has a large Hungarian ethnic population and was formerly the vineyard of the Archbishop of Esztergom. Frigyes does all winemaking without the use of chemicals or pesticides, using natural and organic processes. All wines are made using natural yeast and are aged in oak barrels before bottling. Both his whites and reds are soft, well-balanced and humble wines that aim to show as much of the region’s character as possible.
