Nestled on the southern slopes of Somló Hill in western Hungary, Fekete Pince captures the timeless spirit of this unique volcanic region. With a history spanning nearly 1,000 years, Somló has long been celebrated for its rich minerality and robust acid structure, traits that are beautifully captured in every bottle produced by Fekete Pince.

Founded by Mr. Béla Fekete in the early 1970s, the small winery was a cult favorite among wine lovers in the following decades. In 2014, the winery entered a new chapter when Gábor Riesz and his friends took over, infusing the operation with youthful passion while preserving the rustic elegance that defines Fekete Pince wines.

Today, Gábor, along with his brother and a dedicated team, continues to craft wines that embody the harmonious complexity of Somló, maintaining traditional vinification techniques that honor the special soil and climate of the region. These methods include lengthy maturation periods of 3-4 years in the cellar, allowing the wines to develop their unique personality.
