Agapé is a top Bikavér selection from the St. Andrea winery, made solely from the best grapes from the acclaimed Nagy-eged-hegy vineyard. This 2018 vintage was rated by top wine critic James Suckling with 98 out of 100 points and ranked 48 on his top 100 wines of the year list in 2023.
Deep, rich yet elegant, perfectly balanced between red fruit, herbal and spice notes. A refined, beautifully layered wine that’s almost one of a kind.
Bikavér, or Bull’s Blood from Eger, is a local cuvée based on the Kékfrankos grape variety. In contrast to its bad reputation from the 90s and earlier, it is now regarded as the top wine of the region.

About the St. Andrea winery
About the St. Andrea winery
The St. Andrea winery is run by Dr. György Lőrinc, one of Hungary’s best winemakers and former winemaker of the year. The winemaking style of György (nicknamed “Gyuri”) was deeply influenced by his travels through Burgundy, and the winery prides itself in creating refined wines, both red and white, that are true to the soil and traditions of the region.
His eldest son, also Gyuri, has traveled and visited wineries around the world. He has just returned from New Zealand in 2014 and is now bringing his international experience to the family winery.
