Pannonhalmi Pinot Noir 2024

Pannonhalma is home to one of Europe’s oldest abbeys, where Benedictine monks have cultivated grapes for over a thousand years. Today, this long-standing tradition meets modern winemaking techniques at the abbey winery, which was re-established in 2003 and boasts a sleek, contemporary cellar nestled into the hillside below the historic buildings.

The 52 hectares of vineyards are planted with varieties suited to the cool, breezy climate of Pannonhalma — including Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir and Merlot. The wines are precise, elegant and quietly expressive, reflecting the monks’ contemplative spirit as well as a forward-looking approach in the vineyard and cellar. A unique blend of tradition and innovation in one of Hungary’s most distinctive wine regions.
