Kristinus Olivér 2023 (Bio)

A unique take on a fresh and easy grape variety from the Lake Balaton. The fun, fruity, easy-going grape variety Irsai Olivér is elevated to a new level in this wine thanks to the care and natural techniques employed by the winery. Made with natural techniques, fermented partially on the skins in stainless steel tanks and amphorae, and bottled unfined and unfiltered, this is a wine that’s about as close to its pure grape form as it gets.

Typical Irsai Olivér notes of elderberries, summer flowers and lemon soda, with an extra juiciness and intensity thanks to its natural, unfiltered style.

About the Kristinus winery

The Kristinus Wine Estate is a winery in Kéthely, just south of the Lake Balaton, that was only founded a few years ago, yet it’s already making waves in the Hungarian wine scene as the largest certified biodynamic, low-intervention winery in the country.

Founded by Florian Zaruba from Germany, he and his team grow grapes and make wine on 65 hectares of vineyards, maintaining a careful balance with nature while also producing wines consistently, reliably and with finesse. From their lively, fresh whites to their rich reds, with all kinds of specialties such as juicy orange wines and natural petnat sparklers in between, their range is full of innovative, clean-cut, delicious wines.
