Lenkey Orange 14 2019

Lenkey’s inaugural orange wine is crafted from the finest Furmint grapes of the 2019 vintage, cultivated in the Vilmány vineyard. After two weeks of skin contact, it was aged for four and a half years in used 400-litre oak barrels. Bottled unfiltered, unfined and without sulphur, it is a deep, layered wine with notes of dried citrus, oriental spice and gentle tannins. Complex and full of character, yet still remarkably drinkable.

Lenkey is a small, family-run winery in Tokaj, led by the passionate and uncompromising Géza Lenkey. What sets them apart is their commitment to patience; most of their wines are aged far longer than usual, often for over a decade, yet they remain strikingly fresh.
