Föld (“Earth/Soil”) is a 80%-20% Furmint-Hárslevelű blend from the Tokaj wine region, fermented and aged for 10 months in ceramic egg-shaped amphorae. Föld is the successor of the popular Puro I. from previous vintages. A rich and intense wine full of energy and layers of flavor, starting with warm, rich notes of stone fruits, followed by a juicy structure and deep, rich notes of spices, wild herbs, black tea and a touch of volcanic minerality.
Hand-harvested from 60-year-old vineyards and pressed in whole bunches, fermented with natural yeasts and made with minimal human intervention. The wine was aged in ceramic eggs, which help the wine develop its complex, layered flavors thanks to its round shape and porous structure. The result is a wine that is unique and different from most in the region, but is ultimately still undeniably a classic dry Tokaji wine. Bottled unfiltered and unfined, with no added sulfur.
