Sauska Syrah 2023

A real southern Syrah from Villány – juicy, rich and intense. Full of dark fruit flavors and notes of thyme, lavender and other herbs, with a velvety texture and a hint of chocolate and incense on the finish. Aged in oak barrels for 10 months.

About the Sauska Villány winery

The Sauska winery in Villány is one of the most modern and innovative wineries in Hungary. It was established by Krisztián Sauska, a Hungarian expat from California, who also owns a winery in the Tokaj region. In Villány, Sauska create fruit-first, bold wines that include some of Villány’s most sought-after bottles. They focus primarily on red wines (mainly Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Kékfrankos) as well as a small amount of Chardonnay. Combining state-of-the-art equipment with great care and precision in the winemaking process, they are reinventing the area’s winemaking and raising the bar in Villány.
